ozi explorer and waypoints

Post by nibbler » 31 July 05 12:44 am

As always I have given it my best shot but now need some pointers.

I have exported a waypoint file from GSAK which contains 500 waypoints ,
when I try and import to my map of South Australis all I get is 250.

I know there are 500 but cant get them to Ozi .Have tried exporting dierct from GSAK and Importing via a file in Ozi.Have spoken to fellow geocaacher using this but he has no trouble with exporting 500 waypoints .

Is there a setting to increase the number of waypoints in Ozi.

As always any help would be appreciated  :?

Which version Ozi are you using? ( help -> about)
The Ozi Status line will tell you how many Waypoints are used
mine reads:
Waypoints Used: 0 of 10000 (GPS:1000) when I first load Ozi. What does yours read?

Nibbler,

A couple of quick checks:

- send your .WPT file to your friend for them to check if there really is 500 waypoints listed or alternatively, open the file in notepad, excel etc and check if it contains 500 waypoints. This will establish if it is a GSAK or Ozi problem.

- How many waypoints are mentioned on the bottom of the screen.... "Waypoints Used: ?? of 10000 (GPS:1000) " Does it say 250 or 500? If it states 500 etc, it may be an Ozi related issue, 250 may indicate a GSAK issue. Generalisations i know

- Check under file=>Configuration=>GPS "tab". The settings here reflect how many waypoints uploaded/downloaded to your GPS as well as numbers shown. You will see that by changing models, it will display the number of wapoints etc available to upload/download. Set this area to match your GPS for uploading waypoints. This shouldn't however affect how many waypoints are displayed on Ozi.

- Check to make sure you have the latest version, IIRC version 3.95.4i

HTH
