OziExplorer Cache name databases

Post by Webguy » 11 February 05 10:43 am

Perhaps this has been discussed before, but is there an easy way to export perhaps out of GSAK a file that is compatible with the oziexplorer name search database generation tool?

Has anyone done it?

it would be rather cool to be able to search from within OZIExplorer for a cache.

If you have the data in .wpt format (e.g. export to Ozi from GSAK) you can convert a .wpt file to an Ozi namesearch database using the NameSearch Creator (namesrch.exe - download from oziexplorer.com somewhere).

IMHO it is a shortcoming of Ozi that you can't search for a waypoint by name.

I have spoken to Clyde about this, and he has said that this feature will probably make it into the next version after 5.1

So this will be very handy.

I normally just run GSAK, find the cache there, then launch Ozi from GSAK

Well, with any luck, soon, you won't have to.
