How to change username and password
Re: How to change username and password
When you get a chance, can you please change my forum name (and my GCA log in name) from opa-bob to Opa Shrek. No rush, I've been using the old name to log in for years so a bit more time doesn't matter.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: How to change username and password
G'day faeries,
I received the below by direct message from a well known geocacher. Is there any chance a Faerie can assist Kay to get access to her account? https://geocaching.com.au/cacher/o.kay I can supply an email address if required.
G’day mate, I’m writing on behalf of my friend Kay who cannot access Geocaching Australia. She previously could under the name o.kay
She says she cannot any more using her geocaching.com name and password and has been told that name already exists - hers from a previous login. She said she spoke to you about it but was told she needed to change her log in and password and, understandably, is not prepared to do that. Can you please help. She is not getting any younger and is having more trouble with technology, but wants to do my daily jigsaws and the code solving sessions on GA but doesn’t know how to log on. Any assistance would be gratefully received

Re: How to change username and password
Sorry, but we cannot retrieve her password. For security reasons they are all encrypted and we have no ability to decrypt them.
The only way for her to move forward is to:
- Request a new password
- When the new password is received, log in and change the password to something she can remember (it can even be her old password if she likes)

"If you also want to update your forum name to match, please let us know in this thread and we'll get a faeries onto it. That's not a self-service function at the moment."
Could you please change my forum name to align with my caching name. Please change it to vk7hch
Thanks in advance.
Chris
