Windows 8 and Garmin 60CSx not talking

Post by Yurt » 15 May 14 10:50 am

I can download geocaches to the unit using Chrome via GC.com and everything works fine with the plug-in.

However if I want to upload GPX files to the computer I can't get the Garmin 60CSx to show up as a drive. It has a micro SD installed. I found some comments about this unit from the early days of Windows 8 (last year): "It does not emulate a USB drive like your newer models. The computer needs a specific set of drivers to communicate with it".

I'd like to upload some tracks to OSM but I don't really know where to go next after some searching.

Thanks to Spindoc Bob I have the maps on the GPSr now but I'd like to add to the OSM knowledge base.

Help appreciated.

Ah I may have found out what I was doing wrong - I didn't have it "Mass Storage Mode" - now I can see...
