Re: Android app tha t can do what a GPS Spot can do, any ideas?
I was looking for something like this last year, for similar reasons.
Most of the options were aimed at short term updates (more of a "I'm in the city, come and find me if you are too" idea) rather than regular updates over a longer trip.
I could use Atooma or other automation app to fire off a Tweet or other check-in regularly, but I couldn't see how to make any of them auto-include the location.
I ended up just manually Tweeting fairly regularly. I used Twitter because I usually don't and didn't want to clutter up my G+ feed, and there's quite good websites that'll take a Twitter ID and show the updates on a map.
