Neat! I need a new watch I was hoping they might produce a cheaper one that would interface in with your existing GPS somehow to provide a remote display without all the complexities of inbuilt GPS to allow for stealthy caching. Presuming it syncs with GPS time it should be a very accurate time piecenoikmeister wrote:http://www.ja-gps.com.au/Garmin/fenix/
Except it does paperless geocaching somehow!
You see that as a catch? It is a GPS in the shape of a watch, not a watch with a GPS in it. I actually thought that the battery life was pretty good.quiet1_au wrote:"Battery life is rated at 50 hours in GPS mode or 6 weeks in watch mode." Oh.... I knew there had to be a catch...
Good luck getting 50 hours of battery life out of that setup. Bluetooth sucking down your phone battery and the watch battery. It is rather cool though.Pesky! wrote:

But seriously, there are a couple of open source watches that may be able to be coded to do what you suggest....
the one I have been reading about is the Pebble... bluetooth interface to your android or Iphone, with a programmable apps for the interface....
could be a new market for those clever apps designers amongst us.
here is a link..

I'd like to know where they hide the magnifying glass. Seriously.
It says it is a rechargeable lithium.quiet1_au wrote: There is very little (well no) detailed info on the Fenix - does it have a user-replacable battery?
Some specifications are on the Specs page on JA link provided by OP.quiet1_au wrote:
