managing tracks generated by Garmin Dakota

I want to create a file of a selected section of a track generated on my Garmin Dakota. Can someone recommend (free?) software I can transfer the file into to cut and dice tracks?

The best one for this task is Garmin Mapsource. It isn't supported (IE: maintained/developed) by Garmin now but a Google search should get you a copy. 6.16.2 I think is the most recent version. Garmin Basecamp was a culture shock after Mapsource, is also good, current, and free, from the Garmin website.

Several other softwares will do the job but for ease of editing Tracks, not too flash IMO.
No doubt others will also have their favourites. :)
Cheers.

Many new GPSr's come with a copy of Mapsource in the box, or you could use Ozi Explorer
