Quick question,
Trying to evaluate Ozi Explorer for our offloading adventures, i have used the festy maps before which are quite good.
It is painful however trying to find the right map out of the few hundred that are in that folder, Maybe I'm missing something here........
More to the question, I have noticed that they are only VIC and NSW but we are looking for more Australia wide topo / track maps.
What maps are we able to use that are preferably free ?
Any information is appreciated.
Cheers!

There are topographic maps for every state available for OziExplorer on eBay.
You can purchase your entire state map for under $20

Re: Ozi Explorer maps
Hi - check ebay direct for cheaper deals than those listed above. Last time I looked someone was flogging all the 250K for <$20 where as the link above is offering them at ~$20/state! Also the same 250K maps can be downloaded for free for the Geoscience Australia website and imported in to Oziexplorer..takes a bit of time though so exchanging a small amount of $ may suit some punters.
Cheers

Not sure if the detail and content are what you're looking for, but Google Maps, Google Satellite and Google Terrain, together with Nearmaps, are free with OziExplorer if you have internet connectivity.PacketStorm4 wrote:Quick question,

1:250,000 scale maps are OK for major route planning, but are absolutely useless for anything else. The fine detail for minor roads just isn't there.broometime wrote:There are topographic maps for every state available for OziExplorer on eBay.
