Re: GSAK V8 Beta
Permissions? Administrator? What are these things of which you speak?
I'm pretty much running it 'out of the box' with default everything.... The refresh does work now and then. Yesterday it did 4000 caches no problem and even today it has done one or two just fine. But sometimes (either with one cache or many) it gives this error.

If you're running Windows, try right click on the GSAK icon and "Run as Administrator". On rare occassions I have had trouble with file permissions and GSAK and this seems to solve it.

Re: GSAK V8 Beta
Just tried - no difference. I'll take it to Clyde in the support forums and see what's up. But maybe after a full restore/rebuild...caughtatwork wrote:If you're running Windows, try right click on the GSAK icon and "Run as Administrator". Re: GSAK V8 Beta
How do I get this to stick? It works when I right click but then next time I have to right clisk again to run as administrator.caughtatwork wrote:If you're running Windows, try right click on the GSAK icon and "Run as Administrator". Re: GSAK V8 Beta
Doing my regular GSAK housekeeping, I filtered out all the unfound caches which were flagged as Temp Unavail.
There were about 900 of them in my database.
I ran the Refresh Cache Data menu option using the api.
It refreshed all the cache data for these caches, including the last 10 logs, but only counted it as 14 off my daily 6,000 cache download limit.
Strange, but good. It identified that about 50 of them had been archived, and were candidates for me to delete from my database. The rest were still Temp Unavail.

Re: GSAK V8 Beta
Just a timely reminder that while I still think GSAK8 Beta is awesomness incarnate... I had a major crash last night. I left the putta on to refresh 6000 english caches and while it worked, once it had finished updating, the entire 120,000 waypoint database dissapeared
Luckily I had backed up 3 days ago and could reload. No idea what caused it. No error message, caches just went.

I think you're in charge of stress testing Zal.
I've paid my $20 to register it now.

Have you reported the issue on the GSAK forum?Zalgariath wrote:Just a timely reminder that while I still think GSAK8 Beta is awesomness incarnate... I had a major crash last night. Re: GSAK V8 Beta
Before I post in the GSAK forum I thought I'd ask here.
I've been trying to load my GCA finds into my Found database in GSAK. They are simply being imported as unfound caches.
Somebody please tell me what setting I have to change.....

Re: GSAK V8 Beta
I'd guess you need to look at how GSAK identifies "you". I think the recommendation from the GSAK team is to use the GC.com owner id. But GCA doesn't use this number, so you'll need to use your user name, hopefully in an "exact" match, but mine is in a wildcard match to get them all.
Go to Tools, Options, and look on the general tab.
Of course if you have different user names on each site, then that won't work.
