Geocaching on iphone

Post by pamtayls » 27 March 11 5:47 pm

I am brand new to geocaching and found my first cache today however, when I tried to log on to my geocaching app on my iphone it wouldn't take my user name password. It works here though. Does anyone else have this issue or any suggestions on what I can do?

That iphone app belongs to the US based geocaching.com (they are the biggest geocaching site on the net)

You need to set up an account there to be able to do anything related to their iphone app.

Geocaching Australia has no relationship with that site

In the Geocaching App settings there is a box titled "Geocaching.com Account Info" which you need to put in the username and password which you have used to create an account on http://www.geocaching.com

I find the application quite useful for seeking caches ad hoc but disadvantages are you need to be online to use it unless you plan caches in advance and you can only use it to find caches listed on geocaching.com (A mere 1.1million or so) and not caches listed on geocaching.com.au
I have an app called Geosphere which I use for the Geocaching Australia listed caches.
