I use a XDAII Phone/PocketPC with a Deconnex Bluetooth GPSr, running OziCE & GpxSonar. It works very well, only slows me down on the more indepth puzzle caches. Here is a pic of it in action http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx ... ID=5221766

Argh wish I knew that new bridge existed while doing a cyclogaine around eltham recently, didn't get any controls over the river in that direction as I thought I would have to go way around.

The other software I use is Pocket IE. I have the descriptions for all the caches in my area (HTML format - generated by GSAK) downloaded into my beepy diary. (I also use Ozi CE.)

I use a 2210 running OzieCE for the mapping software in combination with GPXSonar (and Pocket IE) to view the cache data.

Before the trip I use Ozie and GSAK.

Regards

Ian

(PS your survey question choices didn't allow me to make an accurate response as the useful "Purpose" of each is different, and choices must be used in combination.)

It looks like you are assuming that everyone does mapping on their PDA?
I only use the PDA for storing the HTML cache pages only. I thought everyone used iSilo for this?
Is there something better now I'm not aware of?

EcoDave :)

Try using CacheMate

GSAK will export to CacheMate, I used isilo before finding it,

This would involve upgrading alpha's Ipaq to a PalmOS device first, though...

I use a Palm device. It is the ultimate service pack to the "Pocket PC". :p

I don't use it for mapping, but I use iSilo for cache data.

I have both on my palm - I still use the isilo one more than cachemate.
I find it a lot easier to read..

i'm using a Navman PIN with SmartST navigational software for around the streets, then while GC'ing I switch to Tinystocks Navio, its a great little piece of software that does everything I want it to do easily. :D
