If anyone's interested, we've just noticed that Anaconda are selling the Garmin 60CSX GPS for $299 ($200 off).

There was another thread or post on this elsewhere but I can't find it.

I am probably going to buy - managed to lose the faithful Etrex H this week, it may show up but I doubt it now.

It's also worth pointing out that in the same catalogue Anaconda has the Etrex H for $99! I may buy a spare.

Went to Anaconda Auburn today and they said they were sold out (nationally) of the 60 CSX. It wasn't completely true as the Penrith store had three (got an email from them) and I've ordered one of those.

The Etrex was sold out but they had a couple at Moore Park. If you grab a catalogue - you can print it off or go to a store and then take it to Dick Smith Electronics you should be able to get their price as they are supposed to match catalogue prices - DSE even has the Etrex in their catalogue at $149!

Some stores to be able to price match catalogue items, they need the item to be in stock at the catalogue store. So it pays to do your research, some staff will ring that store to check!

I currently use a Garmin map60 CS, but the reception weakens under heavy tree cover. Is it worth investing in a Garmin map60 CSX as they are surposed work better in that situation? :-k

I've got both. I haven't used my 60CS in years as the CSx is far better when it comes to reception. Also you can put a lot more maps on it and create bigger track logs which get saves to the SD card.
