Maps for Europe, North America, China for Garmin Nuvi 310?

I am after recent maps for a Garmin Nuvi 310 for Europe (including Russia), North America and China. We are driving an electric vehicle around the world (starting in less than a month), so maps would be handy! I can post a more detailed list of countries, if needed.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. (Free or cheap would be a good price, but all suggestions gratefully accepted.)

I was just being cheeky - but, seriously, I'd have thought that such an undertaking would require a huge amount of preplanning and that all routes would be carefully checked out before leaving and all maps, navigation aids, border checkpoints, war zones, distance between power points, length of extension cords required, types of wall plugs, etc, etc, etc would all have been worked out by now.

I was being a little flippant too. There are several cars that will be travelling in convoy, the race organisers have the detailed route planned out, and will provide GPS coordinates of key locations for the day. But, we want to make sure we have an independent set of maps. I'm trying other sources too, but I wanted to see what the wise geocaching forum would suggest.

I reckon having a geocacher on board for such a trip would be a hoot! "Hold it, there is a cache here in 200m!" or "Can we just take this little detour? It'll only mean an extra 2.5km."
