Re: Nearmap Images
Thats seriously crazy resolution. The resolution is typically 7.5cm
I love their maps, plus they allow the OSM oproject to use their images to trace roads etc, so they get ticks all round.
Now, I patiently wait for them to do a flyover of tassie

Re: Nearmap Images
That's pretty good resolution. Haven't checked but I wonder how accurate the lat/long is? You could almost spot some caches using that if not under trees. I can spot a square brick in the backyard covering a sewer pipe outlet.

Re: Nearmap Images
Has anyone as yet worked out an easy way to downlaod the tiles so they can be used on the GPS?
I have looked through the forums here and on Nearmaps but I cant seem to find an easy answer Any help would be certainly appreciated

Re: Nearmap Images
mm, the resolution isn't good enough for me to tell if I need to clean the leaves out of my gutters again yet though

Re: Nearmap Images
Found an interesting one on the latest google earth images where they have obviously stitched two passes together. At the park to the north side of Central Station you can see the southern side of the buildings, then the northern side of the others. Through my direction calculations out by about 15 degrees.

High resolution Nearmap images now cover the area:
Tallarook, Yea, Alexandra, Marysville (part), Broadford and Wallan

Re: Nearmap Images
Thanks for all the help and the links.
That has certainly answered my questions, now all to do is try it out and see how large the files would be to cover all of perth Metro area....

Re: Nearmap Images
They work great if done correctly, Much better than that Google earth image thing, what ever they call it, charging people $40.00 per year to use.
