Magellan Repairs

Post by koalaboi » 12 September 09 5:00 pm

Hi,

I have a Magellan 100 which is about 3 years old. It's hardly been used but when I last went out to log some sites, I found only a couple of buttons work. I've tried re-booting, new batteries etc but no good.

Is it worth trying to fix or do I bite the bullet and chuck it?

If fixing is an option, where would I go?

Thansk

Seriously though:

These guys replaced a cable for me under warranty a whilst ago. I am not sure if they do repairs.

Actually I searched on a couple of other forums and they suggested them as well. Details:

Contact Next destination osborne Pk WA the Import & repair magellon GPS.

NEXT DESTINATION PTY LTD
18 Baden St Osborne Park 6017 (08) 9444 0233
OR... (08) 9443 2598

They will probably advise you if it is worth fixing or not. Good luck.

For those who are interested, Next Destinations fixed the device for $60.00. Apparently the fault is reasonably common: the back of the buttons perishes somewhat creating an insulating layer wich prevents them from working effectively.
