I'm up to 2.98, and also waiting to see if the latest beta is worthwhile.

I am still waiting to see some more feed back on 3.01, it would seem that most that have upgraded are ok with it, but I'm happy with 2.98 for the time being.

2.98 all the way.... :P

I only update my GPSr's if there are new features that are useful. IMO anything over 2.98 is not worth the upgrade.

I had updated to 2.98 and had problems with my garmin when i switched off. or was that 2.99, i am not certain now. I upgraded to 3.01 with no problems and my shut down problem was eliminated.

Beta firmware for Oregon no longer appears to be available from the website? However, using Garmin webupdater will give you the option to update to the "official" Firmware Version 3.10. Dont be scared.

I wonder why it's not on there website, Maybe they have found problems with it and have removed for that reason, the only reason why I could think off that they removed the update.
You mention 3.10? The latest I am aware of is 3.01.

I think you will find that they have finished with the beta testing so have remove that and now released an official version.

I just went and checked on Garmin website and they have a beta version of 3.12 available, It says that it gives better GPS performance.

I have read reports of units failing after updating to 3.10, I would think this is probably why Garmin have removed the 3.10 update.

From what I can see in the Wiki everyone is happy with 3.10, but there is already an issue with BETA 3.12

I read that someones unit on the wiki would not bootup after updating to 3.10. I have not read any bad reports on 3.12 apart from Go to "Waypoint manager", select a waypoint like you would like to edit it, and then there is no red "return cross" ... so you cannot return to the previous menu !
