GSAK Macro to create a banner

Post by delboy1203 » 07 May 09 11:32 pm

OK, this is my first ever attempt at writing a macro for GSAK. I have no experience at all, but managed to piece this together from bits and pieces that I found on the GSAK website. <p>
The macro will take your finds from GSAK and create a banner from the data. You can then take the HTML created and paste this into your GC.com or GCA.com profile. <p>
Why, I hear you say? Because I was tired of pasting a GC.com banner AND a GCA.com banner into my profile. And if you use GSAK for Waymarking, these stats will be included too!<p>
If you want to see the result before you download the macro, looky see here.<p>

Download file here. (http://snurl.com/hjl6j)
<p>
All feedback appreciated - constructive or otherwise!

I presume it's the beige box with cache icons on the profile page linked in the OP.

What's the ammo can icon? Have you only found one?
Mouseover text to say what they represent could be useful?

Oh,on that site :-)
Quite nice, yes.
alt text and title text on the image would indeed be nice.

Like I said, first attempt...<p>
Not sure how to get the alt text yet, will work on that.<p>
The ammo can was "other" caches 'cos I couldn't find an icon at the time. I have now, so will change it when I add the Waymarking icon. I will also look at adding the Whereigo icon.<p>
What kind of title text would you like? I tried adding various banners, but the table width is variable, so it sometimes looks out of place (if you have loads of finds for example).

Yet to find an ammo can... besides the one at WWFM events! :(

On the image add the following attributes:
alt="name of container" title="name of container"

Then when IE or FF users mouse over the image it pops up a tooltip saying what the image is.

Post by delboy1203 » 13 May 09 8:07 pm

Version 1.2 now online<p>

:!: New :!: <br>
Added Mouseover descriptions<br>
Added 'Whereigo' & 'Waymarking' icons<br>
Added 'Mega Event' icon in preparation for next year  <p>

Have found an error that I am working on. The number of hides only works for me  <p>

PS: I have also cleaned up the code a bit...
