Help Wanted: Asus EEE Mic doesn't work

Post by ian-and-penny » 24 December 08 6:49 pm

Hi,

Tried to do a bit of voice recording today. I can't get any "quality" input from either the inbuilt mic or an external, know good one.

Can anybody help to diagnose the problem?

Under Xandros left click the speaker icon on the tool bar and bring up the levels box !
Make sure the mike level is right up and it is not ticked as muted, just had to do it to this one(701) after reading this post, Merry Christmas

Mine is running XP and have had no problems with the mic. Use a headset for better sound and mic volume though. (Saves the other webcam party getting a look up the nostrils while I shout into the camera!)

From your post I take it you are getting some input but not very good?

If you can't fix it with Window's settings you could try a search on http://forum.eeeuser.com/ and see if someone has had the same problem.

Seems to be fixed.

Updated the bios and the Audio drivers.

Sound is not that great using the inbuilt mic but using a headset now appears to be working much better.
