Advice on easy web page design/uploading
I am after some suggestions about easy to use (&cheap/free) programs <br>to make a simple web page that I can upload to the webspace <br>provided by my ISP. I believe I also need a program to do the actual upload <p>I don't need anything spectacular, just a nice <br>back ground, text and photos......<br>and of course links to websites such as GCA/GC etc.

I use "ws_ftp 95 LE" which is free and it has instructions on how to load it and use it from the web page "http://www.pagematic.com/faq/ws_ftp.html". I have been using the ws_ftp programs for many years and they work fine for uploading using the FTP facility of uploading a web page. Just what I use!!
I also use EZPAD 3.0 to write my web pages but you do need some experience to use it as you are writing HTML code with it.

...not too sure how a website can be 'linux looking'...??Pesky! wrote:Don't be discouraged by the very LINUX looking homesite.
I havent used KompoZer for a while, but it is a very good package. It is an all-in-one editing/managing thingo... used to be a little slow, not too sure about nowdays....
Just don't give them your real email address as you'll be receiving emails *5* years after trialling some software of theirs......... wish I was kidding.Pesky! wrote:if you are looking for something al ittle simpler but still lots of features including webpage and ftp wizards,
try cofeecup html its a little more limited, but may suit your needs in getting started without having to learn a huge application.
you can download a trial version here http://www.coffeecup.com/software/
but it will be asking for payment soon after you get into using it.
On another note: I'd try to avoid using word or publisher as they spit out rather funky pages that don't always work with all browsers, polus they save as lot of unneeded garbage in the files, resulting in sometimes staggering file sizes!

Mac or Windows?
As I work on a Mac, I use FreeWay for page design (it's shareware), but I use Cyberduck (http://cyberduck.ch/) for FTP.
