web updater

Has any one used Web updater to automatically update their Garmin GPS?

I have a simple yellow etrex that has never had any updates installed.

It's running software version 3.10

Has anyone had any disasters uploading newer software?

The GPS works fine the way it is.

Any input please!!!

I've used it both on my GPSMAP 60CS and GPSMAP60CSx with no problems.

I did have one unusual download which appeared and caused a problem but I think I ran update again or loaded previous fix (can't remember) but thankfully got back to normal quickly.
BTW I have a vista hcx

I ran the web updater 2 days ago and it found an update from 3.50 to 3.60 for my 60cx.

I have a Garmin Edge 205. After downloading an update, my GPS aquires signals much faster and holds the signal much better.

Pardon my ignorarnce. I have a Gramin 60Cx.How do I find out what version of the software I am running? If there is a later version how do I update?

you should have a menu page and within that Setup.
Open Setup then go to System .that's where you will find the Software version you are using.

Oh, go to www.garmin.com that's where you will find Webupdater.

Thanks for the info. I have successfully installed the updates. Hopefully there will be no problems.
