Stuff for caching by bike / motorbike

Post by GeoScrubers » 12 February 07 5:06 pm

Just some info I found while reading a motorbike mag - might be of use to cachers. I haven't bought anything and it is an OS site, but thought I would post a thread about it if anyone is interested. Touratech have a pile of GPSr and PDA mounts for bikes (motor and bicycle)
http://www.touratech.de .<p>
Also in the same mag, Garmins latest navigator designed for bikes - zumo550. Is waterproof and has left hand nav buttons, bluetooth and auto navigation to fuel  http://www.gme.net.au

The Garmin Foretrex 101 that I've always used for caching works pretty well on a bike :D

Another source for PDA bike holsters is Kressel, a company that make lots of PDA/mobile phone covers. I've had no problems with mine for the i-mate, although it wouldn't cut it on a motorbike....

RAM mounts are very popular for motorbikes.

Maybe this chair could be handy for when you get there. Doesn't take up much room

Okay, that could be because I can't spell. Its Krussel.
Try http://www.krusell.se/productMulti.php? ... ategory=13

The cases are readily available in australia, the bike kit might be harder to get hold of. I got mine off ebay.

Im modifying my windscreen mount Ram to suit the handlebars on my bike for my trip down to Singleton late March. I am running power from the battery for both GPS and PDA. I will be using PDA as an MP3 while riding.
