I'm sure you already know this, but GSAK will load a ZIP file straight up without decompressing it first. (Or a folder full of ZIP files)

You can also just drag a ZIP onto the GSAK icon and it will do the same.

You must make a new data base first, unless it an update were u can set it to erase the old data.
We usually open gsak ,minimise then drag to the icon. There is probably something im missing! but it works for us.

Ok. I then need to automate the email from GC so it auto saves the zip file into a directory. Anyone know how to auto strip the attachment from within Mozilla's mail as it arrives without human input? :?:
After that I can write a macro in GSAK to auto import new data so it is done whenever GSAK starts.

not sure if you can do it that way.. the only way I could suggest is setup a new mailbox and have some program read the email.
You would have to google some pop3 command line mail clients that can scan for your attachments.
good luck on that.

GSAK can do the mail bit for you! Set your mail client to leave the mail on the server (for a day or three) and you can grab the file attachments directly from within GSAK using the "get data via e-mail" in the File menu.

You sound like a classic case for a macro, Z! You should be able to do all of your importing, filtering and exporting with one button. Spend a bit of time looking into the macro language; for these sorts of things it's pretty straightforward.

-BASIC (or Forth or c or language of choice) for doing simple tasks in the field. (Adding up the "A=1, B=2.." types, doing ROTn, Vignere codes, etc., etc.)
Is there any of these utilities available for download or do I need a compiler to make my own? eg a=1,b=2 calculations
I use the trial version of HotPaw Basic, which allows four active memo-based programs (but you can easily swap around which four you have at any given time)
It handles text files and all the usual basic stuff and is great for quick on-the-fly calculations.
