Bought a Garmin Legend (Blue) on Ebay and it works really well; very happy with it but it comes only with a serial port cable. I have bought a USB cable that connects to the Serial end and to the USB port of the PC but the PC won't talk to it. Does someone have the necessary software or know where I can download it? Thanks.

Have you checked the settings on your GPSr.
If it does not have a manual download it (GPSr)

That has happened to me before but with a different GPSr (Garmin etrex Venture) i had a serial connection and couldnt get the computer to talk to it so tried booting the computer with it plugged in and the GPSr turned on and it seemed to recognize it.
No Guarantee that will work but give it a go

Don't panic!! Don't panic!! I found the driver disc. It was hidden with the package but in between the two pieces of cardboard. It has all come out in the wash so all is good in the world.

Most serial usb cables are generic in construction which make it heaps easy to download a driver from the web, if it looks the same usually it will work.
