Locationless Placement and Notification

Post by SG-3 » 16 February 08 8:16 pm

Hi there! I have recently placed my first GCA cache (Hooray!); its a locationless, and was placed over 24 hours ago. It is viewable, and I am listed on the Locationless dashboard as one of the top Locationless Hiders for February (so that part of the Dashboard recognises I've placed it), but in the "Newest Caches (Last 7 days)" it comes up with "No Recent Caches Available". Have I done anything wrong?

Also, is there any way of receiving a daily notification (like the state notifications) when a new Locationless Cache becomes available? Although I've only done a few, I've taken a liking to them, but unless I check, I don't know if a new one is out there!

Cheers,

You can see new locationless caches by going to the Caches tab, and clicking on 'Locationless'

They do not appear in State dashboards, as by their very definition, they have no location to belong to!

Yes, I understand that, but that does not help me with my initial problem- it doesn't appear on the LOCATIONLESS dashboard ( http://geocaching.com.au/dashboard/lo/ ) as "Newest Caches (Last 7 days)" or, for that matter "Available Awaiting First Find", even though I'm listed here as one of the "Top Hiders February 2008" with big dazza and richlink.

Ahh, thats because we excluded them from those lists before we moved them to their own 'state'.... I'll fix it soon!

If we ask Caught at Work nicely he might be able to Generate a GPX file similar to the states ones the that He very nicely does now. That way we can all be up to date with them.

All things being equal, you should now have the capability to request a locationless.gpx file to be mailed to you.

http://www.caughtatwork.net/geocaching/gpxmail

As an added function, you can now choose any file for multiple days.
