Missing Country

Post by luckdogscrew » 14 October 07 9:57 am

I was checking my Stats on my account and I noticed that there is a country missing, (South Korea). Is there anything I should do to fix this or is it just a small bug?

Which cache is the one in South Korea?
I'll see what's going on.

Aha!

The country table has South Korea marked differently to GC, so there was no match of name and therefore no country assigned.

This has now been corrected.

Enjoy.

The last hundred or so of ours are the same. The countries should be Russia, Germany, France, England, the Irelands and USA. Is that too big a job? If so don't worry about it, we know where they are from.

Total Finds: 658 at 0.67 per day or 4.67 per week
Finds by Country:
521 (Australia)
71 (United Kingdom)
29 (Ireland)
16 (United States)

7 (Germany)
1 (Netherlands)

Your country stats add up to 657 so you are only missing 1 by country.
If you can tell me which one is missing, I can fix it.

Hmmm, Russia - the cache was The Vatican of Russia. http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gcgjva

You're a legend. Thanks.

You've gotta love the faeries at gca. I was hesitating about asking c@w to have a look at my missing South Korean caches after reading these posts, but thought I'd better just check the stats page first, and - lo and behold - there is South Korea in my list of countries. Thanks guys; you're legends.

Tada :-)
We had Russian Federation whereas GC had Russia.
They are now both aligned.

Always glad to be of service.
If anything else looks wonky, just give the faeries a hoy.

Um, while you're fixing this stuff, two of my US caches are showing up as "unknown". I think the caches are General of the Armies (GC8348) and The View of an Honest Man (GCEB2).

It would be great if you could sort these out, too. A couple of other Aussies, including Maccamob have also visited these caches.

Thanks!

And a question: All my OS countries line up, but I have 2 caches listed as state unknown and 48 listed as state not provided. Since these total 50, I assume these correspond to the 50 caches I found OS in July. What is the difference between 'unknown' and 'not provided'?

Cheers!

Edited to get the numbers around the right way.

Edit: Actually, the OS countries don't line up. There are two Danish caches which appear to be unknown (hence, perhaps, the unknown state). Could a faery fix these? They are: http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gcj8wn and http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gckknt. Cheers x 2.

Not provided means that there is no state provided.
Unknown means there is one provided, but we don't know what it is as we can't find a matching entry on the state table.
Your missing two DK caches are now in your stats list correctly.
