Are GCA caches adoptable???

Post by J_&_J » 07 October 07 12:13 pm

I've just had a look through the Wiki, then tried searching this forum, but couldn't find anything on adopting out a GCA cache. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance.

It's not something we've really had to deal with...

It's not a big problem on the technical side...so it's not totally unpossible!

If you are putting your caches up for adoption, do it via the forums and we can change the owners name once it's been verified that they want to be the new owners.

four-fun is adopting our Adelaide Hills caches as we will no longer be able to maintain them. He has already taken on our three GC.com listings, and is prepared to take on Sub Zero (GA0484). These days we don't even take the GPSr on visits to Adelaide, so almost certainly will not be providing maintenance duties on any caches. We'd appreciate it if admin could send this cache to a good home.

As J & J said,
I have adopted their Adelaide Hills caches and I would also be happy to take on the maintanance of 'Sub Zero'
If someone with the magical powers to change ownership of caches would like to make this happen, that would be great :D
Cheers

OK.

The Senior Wombat is off to sandier pastures in the Middle East and as such, I have put feelers out to the Geomonkey who is willing to accept responsibility for the adoption of my caches.
The GC.com ones are transfered but the .au ones will need to be amended to show that he is the owner.
Also the E-mails will need to be directed to him as one is a virtual and the other, well lets just say that some people have needed a hand with this one. The caches in question are GA0403 (The Railwaymen(and women)) and GA0189 (When I was a Boy).

At this stage, I'll say thanks to all I have met personally, via the e-mail or when help was (often) required. Keep up the good work and I might see a few of you later.

Pesky says that Shifter Brains wants these, so if someone can confirm exactly who will own them, I'll do the transfer.

Cool. I wait for Shifter to tell me all is OK and I'll fix 'em up.

Thanks for the help, both Caughtatwork and Pesky. We have now adopted the 2 GCA caches, one currently undergoing repair, and have also adopted the very first cache we found "Rumbalara Rocks".</p>
A huge thank you to Wyoming Wombats for setting up these caches in the first place. :D :D
