Cache Tagging ideas
hi,
Is it possible to add numbers to the tagging feature (well at least the number 4) due to the inability of adding "4wd" "4x4" "2wd" etc to a cache. Whilst i can't think offhand of many situations where other numbers may be required, i'm sure they may crop up

Second idea, is it possible to add all the current tags on the "add/edit tags" page, so as to see what's currently common when adding your own......it would help choosing the most appropriate term instead of slight variants eg must+do v's must-do, kid+friendly v's kid-friendly etc
Whilst not wishing to restrict the open concept of tagging, it would be nice to prompt us for more common terms instead of adding "4x4", "4wd", "four+wheel+drive", "no+commodores" tags to the one cache just to cover all bases.

good suggestions, I'm playing around with the tags today....I'll take the numbers out of the banlist.
The displaying of current tags is an interesting one.... while the list is small it wouldnt be an issue, but if people start using them it could be a bit of a handful.
Tell you what, we'll Just Do It (tm) and see what happens
Stay tuned!
Thanks for the feedback!

I'm really quite enjoying the tags - after initially being a bit negative about them.
This may sound silly, but its kind of what usability is about, I feel a real need to type commas between tags to separate them. Why do I feel this need? Coz all the other sites I tag on have commas between them.
Could you make it that it's ok to have commas between them? I actually think it would be better if you had to, because then you could tag as "kid friendly" instead of kid+friendly or kid-friendly.
I did five caches yesterday, and I think I tagged them all!

It's on my list... it shouldn't be too hard to do (but it has to be done in a few spots)Cached wrote:I'm really quite enjoying the tags - after initially being a bit negative about them.

The more I ponder your suggestion, the more I like it.
Glad to see you like the tags (I've moved them up to under the cache description..should be on the main site pretty soon)

Righto, I've changed the tags to work as per Cached's comments, so tags will be comma separated...now tags like "kid friendly" will be one tag.
"4x4" and other numerical tags will now work too.....
Some of the other comments in this thread have also been dealt with.
Stay tuned, an update is imminent.
Thanks once again for all your input, it is what drives this site!
