we were just browsing the website stats and thought you might be interested

month of march

geocaching.com.au:
- served 15.5 GB, 6.5 GB of which was to robots (surprisingly high)
- 950,000 hits
- slightly busier on mondays
- one IP address from an ISP in houston downloaded 780MB (crawling the site, so we've blocked it to see what happens)
- googlebot downloaded 2GB, yahoo 3.5GB
- 34 hits came from searches on "booty central"
- 19 hits came from searches on "50 s fashion"

forum.geocaching.com.au
- served 4.5GB, almost none to robots
- 650,000 hits
- busiest day is tuesday, lowest day is saturday (all out caching!)
- highest usage IP came from optusnet, downloaded 100MB of forum (good one!)

gallery.geocaching.com.au
- served 2.3GB, hardly any to search engines
- highest search term was "nude geocaching" (!)

wiki.geocaching.com.au
- served 1GB, 280MB was for users, the rest was robots
- main search terms were "geocache" and "google earth australia"

I got a feeling that's me although I'm a bit shocked at the total volume.

Can you turn it back on and I'll confirm it's me or not.

It's me.
None of my imports worked this morning with a Forbidden error.
Can you please turn me back on.

Thanks :D

Given I grab about 8MB / day (stats pack), over a month that's about 250MB.

I'll have to think about what else I could be grabbing.

Some of it would have been testing, but that's an awful lot of testing.

I think you come out ahead as the graphs generate about 2.5-3GB of traffic a month. No complaints, just info.

See how open and friendly we are :-)

Again, thanks.
