I tried for an ApriL Fools Day joke cache, but I stuffed up the listing and left it on 'draft' until it was too late!

Maybe next year!

Check out Google Earth and look around at "Area 51"

Look in the carpark of the four big white buildings.

They've got visitors!

Somebody I know rang me in a panic this morning - thought it was all his fault....

I'd already read the thread...
Nope. That was a real message.

But thoughts were thrown around on how to expand that thread into an April fools joke, but abandoned as it took too much time.

[Stewie voice on] Darn. I missed all the fun. I was out geocaching all day yesterday. Didn't log into GCA at all. Yup. Geocaching. All day. You know, out there. All Saturday. GPSr in hand. Looking for caches. Finding them. You know. Looking under a bridge. Under a rock. Finding a plastic container. All day. Enjoying the open air. Cycling along a trail. Opening up the old arteries. Getting damp in a shower of rain. Seeing somewhere new. All day. Geocaching. You know. Yup. Missed alllll the fun. [/Stewie voice off]

April Fools jokes aren't at all funny when they are designed as a personal attack. I am glad it did not eventuate.

I didnt see anything about personal attacks? Please don't go putting thoughts into people's heads..
The thread posting you are referring to had nothing to do with the 01/03 prank, that was all that was said.

i! and I and a few others I believe tossed around some ideas on different pranks, one or two involving a coin or two were in there, but nothing that would cause personal issues as you say.
More a photoshop session on some other coins etc.

Most of the pranks were discarded as the setting up was going to take huge time, and no-one had it to spare, I think the resulting prank was pretty funny albeit very simple.

We are amazed at how many fell for it.

What did someone say once? "All's fair on April 1st?" Till lunchtime anyway !:D

Sorry - got paranoia hat firmly in place today!

Shall remove - thanks for the clarification - makes more sense now.

I *did* think the joke was funny.

It would have caused a massive heart attack session if it had been used though :D But we considered that it was unfair to certain people, that was I think more the reason it didnt get used. (Plus none of us had time ) :)

Though none of it was as funny as the joke that one of my clients pulled on me :(

Bast@rds! got me well-n-truly....Even had the local Police in on it :x

Would love to, but due to the naure of their premises I better not...

Lets just say it involved Police, Thieves and Security... (All a bad combination at the best of times)... To top it right off add the Insurance companies into the melle...

(Is melle spelt right?)
