can't import a log [closed]

Post by ZED! » 05 November 05 8:41 am

Hmmm, I've done an oopsie.
Found a cache on the Oct 31, I was FTF and and my log was quickly followed by 5 others which pushed my log off the front page and so it seems was overlooked by the GCA import. I've waited 5 days to see if it would come through but it hasn't so I attempted the import wizard. I'm new to GSAK so I'm still finding my way and I've also noticed that GSAK hasn't picked up my log so I'm having no luck either way.
Anyway, in running the import wizard I've overlooked something (had %name instead of %code) and created a bogus cache on GCA which I think admin might want to delete. 'Geocaching Quiz' in WA.
Could admin also find the missing log for me before I bugger something else up? GCR54P.

There's a new special PQ on the relevant gc.com page that'll give you _all_ your finds, including those on now-archived caches (which I was very pleased to see!) and, I think, it also gets around the "scrolled off the 5 log limit" problem.

Give it a go and see if it has the right stuff in it!

The archived thing was a problem for those old-timers (i.e. more than 18 months or so!) cachers who had logs on archived caches before the log imports on GCA started happening. This fixes it and gives you back your real tally on the stats here (not that it's about the numbers, of course!)

Well while I had no probs paying for GSAK, I did have an issue with paying for Premium Membership on GC.com, but I have now forked over the money and now can run the PQ.
I have obtained the missing log and imported it to GCA without a problem this time so all is good on that front but I note that the geocache I accidently created and asked to be deleted in my prior log is still there.
Can someone take care of the following please.
or should I make a seperate request in a new message?

Hmmm, I have tried all of the above. Im sure I am exporting the gpx file correctly but when I import it keeps saying 0 imported. I think it can only be a problem with a name change early on in the piece that we had but the gpx file shows our log as the right name so maybe thats not the problem. Anyone help? Missing about 16 logs.

Most (but not all) of those 16 logs have already got logs in them on the same days by 'Team Horizons - Stryx & Tepi'

I wonder if thats causing the system to burp???

As far as the GPX file goes, it seems ok to me..........

We may need to summon the knowledge of the all seeing i! for help on this one!!

HELP:!::!:

sorry for the late reply

yes, it won't work because of gca's exclusive patented all rights reserved log duplication detector (TM)

we think the best way to approach it would be:
1. we delete all the logs by the player "Team Horizons - Stryx & Tepi"
2. then you can upload your GPX file of finds by "Team Horizons"

is that okay with you?

oops, sorry, we missed that

were you referring to the cache with the incorrect waypoint name? if so, we've just deleted it.

Has anybody else now noticed that you can download a GC pocket query with all your finds in it?

Might fix a few problems for people if they download and then upload.

yeah, that's the PQ Bear_Left was referring to and the one I used to fix my original problem.
