What features do you use most on GCA (Past and present)?
Thought it could be a good indication as to what people use most.
A poll wasn't used as it's you that should determin the answers.
Myself:
1 Forum post since last visit feature
2 Latest forum posts feature
3 The map links that were on the old site for GC caches

we mainly use the dreaded debugging screen!
seriously, our favourite thing is rss feeds. we use RSS to keep tabs on the forum, new caches in NSW and as of yesterday, we keep tabs on maccamob!
geof,
this is a good question! we often develop stuff and after the initial feedback dies down, we don't get much ongoing feedback so we assume that people aren't using it much. so thanks for asking.
#1 and #2 are available on the menu bar, so that should be okay. interestingly #2 is not a standard phpbb feature, but someone suggested it we wrote it and we find it quite useful too!
by #3 do you mean the links or the map itself? if you are after particular links, please let us know what they are (preferably in another thread so we can action it separately rather than in the middle of this discussion thread) if you are after the map itself, it's on the Development List]list
cached,
mind socket showed us some alpha stats last night and they seem pretty good. we aren't sure exactly when he will launch them, but it could be soon.

1 Forum post since last visit feature
2 Latest logs (but is gone at the moment)
3 Cacher pages
4 Stats (Australia, Victoria) including previous months (but is gone)
Since the move to the new server there have been improvements (such as the Google Earth kml) but there has also been a degradation of some of the previous features which is a real pity.

Think positive, as i! said, a lot of the features have been turned off while they make sure the new back end is stable. I'm sure the features you know and love will reappear in the fullness of time.caughtatwork wrote:....

Geof
My number 4 item would have been state cache lists but that was a long time ago that we had state tabs.
Ideology3 The map links that were on the old site for GC caches
Think I'v just found them again . It was the "Multimap" link.by #3 do you mean the links or the map itself? if you are after particular links, please let us know what they are (preferably in another thread so we can action it separately rather than in the middle of this discussion thread) if you are after the map itself, it's on the Development List]list
