Actually I think there is some problem with the value sent in the AREA field of the cookie, look at my request and the headers recieved back:
GET http://geocaching.com.au/area/qld HTTP/1.1
HOST: www.geocaching.com.au
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Sun, 20 Feb 2005 01:39:00 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.26 (Unix) Debian GNU/Linux mod_ssl/2.8.9 OpenSSL/0.9.6c
Set-Cookie: area=ALL; expires=Tue, 22-Mar-05 01:39:07 GMT; path=/; domain=.geocaching.com.au
Transfer-Encoding: chunked
Content-Type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1
I requested qld as the area, but the cookie returned says ALL for the area. That doesn't seem right...???

I see the same results with the cookie that is returned. However if you are using something like sam spade you won't be logged in.
What happens if you use your browser, click on the 'All' tab and then select a state from the list on the page that appears.?

I get the state listing and the tab contents changes to the state abbreviation.
If I close the browser and reopen, the last state I visited appears in the tab in place of the 'All'. Clicking the state tab returns me to the page containing the list of states.

Do you get a similar operation?

Nope sorry, I dont like this idea. I used to like clicking on my own state and seeing who is on top of the state ladder, who has hidden the most caches and all the new caches out in just 1 click. Now to find the same information i have to click about 4 times.. Oh and to change the location I have to click 2 times now.. Sorry guys, but this aint me, i wish it can be back to what it was just a day or two ago. More simple and easy to use..

I have to agree with xf king - I too thought the one simple click to find my state caches and rankings was great. Your lucky to find it in 4 clicks - I cant seem to find it at all.
Okay - dont know what I did but I now have a qld tab at the top of the page - still cant find the rankings for the state though. Is it just me?
Man I picked the wrong week to sign up - I just got familiar with the old site - lol.

crew153, we'll create a debugging page to see what's going on
xfking, sorry, we were reacting to the feedback in this thread where people were saying the state page was too crowded. we plan to convert the start selection to a drop-down menu which will save a screen. we also default the state page to the gca listing page but we could change this to a 'state at a glance' page like the old state page.
geoforce 5, to get the rankings, try clicking on the stats tab

Thanks for all your efforts. It is looking good, but one thing is still missing from the old format ... stats on cache find by cache. That is you could see before what caches had been found in the month, ytd etc. It was a good indicator of popularity etc. Is this still there somewhere?ideology wrote:aushiker: we've reinstated ytd links as you requested. team logos are displayed for leaders as well as on the sites page
Thanks

Re: State pages ??
Refresh your browser pages....as the state pages seem to have moved a while back to http://geocaching.com.au/area/wa etc.gerryl wrote:I have tried to connect to a state page but get a message saying the page doesn't exist. BTW what is it with clicking on the (in my case) Qld tab and going to the "goto" page instead of straight to Qld
