Location hints

http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/My_Locations
My Locations is a function developed by Geocaching Australia to create, edit and delete locations which you frequently refer to.
For example, if you are an active cacher involved with Moveable caches creating and maintaining a list of My Locations enables to you to see these locations when you log a Moveable cache and easily use the co-ordinates from the list of My Locations.
To create, edit and delete locations you can go to your My Locations which can be found under the My Profile link on the menu. You can get there directly from this link http://geocaching.com.au/my/settings
You can create a new My Location by entering the data in the last row of blank text boxes. You can update any of your My Locations by editing the data in each line.
Enter a meaningful name for your location. This is the name that will be displayed to you on the log page. The list is sorted by the name (ascending). Enter a hint which will be automatically inserted for you. Enter a set of co-ordinates for your location and click the Update button. The page will be displayed again showing the new name, co-ordinates and a small, static Google Map for you to confirm your location is accurate.
To delete a My Location, simply click the Delete box and click the Update button.
My Locations are displayed on the Log page when you go to log a geocache. Simply selecting the appropriate My Location name from the drop down box will automatically populate the co-ordinates and the hint in the co-ordinates box. To clear the co-ordinates box, blank it out or select "Select a saved location" from the drop down box.
A request to add hints to the locations has been done. You can now add a hint to any of your locations and when you use that location on your log, the hint will be automatically inserted. Another step towards making your logging simple and easy.

F5 forces the new javascript file to come down. The same sorts of problems exist with new .css files. Eventually they all expire and get downloaded again, but the first time or two or three, it looks wrong :-(
Same as the others, but all good after a dose of the F5.......looks good, thanks.

This is now the place to go to update your trophies and will now display counts of what you need to gain the trophy.

A request has been around in the development list for a while to go directly to log a cache.

Now from the menu, simply choose the type (GA or TP) enter the code and GO! to be taken directly to the log page. Make sure you're logging the right cache though :-)

It would be great to have an option to select "Is on my Planned List" when creating a query.
It's taken a while but this is now available. Thanks for helping to suggest things to make Geocaching Australia a better place.

dragonZone Improvements

Make it easier to play the dragonZone game by identify by state which zones are controlled by which clan.
caughtatwork wrote:
So while it is not immediately practical to make what you want, we could create a page like http://geocaching.com.au/dragonzone/zonecontrol/ but in state columns rather than by clan. i.e. All zones under Victoria with the counts of caches controlled. That would not let you see what caches are easy targets, but would show you what zones may be controllable.
Not exactly what was asked but.
http://geocaching.com.au/dragonzone/statezonecontrol/
For each state it will show you all the zones and who controls (or which ones are uncontrolled). Still do not have a good way to calculate which caches are in that zone as a summary. Sorry you're going to need to put in some effort :-)
For example if you were to travel through Melton you would see that 4 caches are controlled by Griffin, none by Phoenix, 13 by Cerberus and none by Minotaur. So if you were a Phoenix clan member you would need to get 13 or more to control the zone. You might bypass and try another zone on your way to your destination.
Melton (S)
4.00 0.00 13.00 0.00

Thanks for your suggestion in making Geocaching Australia a better site.

OR you could see how many points are need to take control of each of the 13 Cerberus ones and just find and control 7 of the achievable ones. 13-7=6, 0+7=7

Cloning

Do you have a favourite geocache listing that you have set up? That you have lovingly crafted? That you spent lots of skin and sweat setting up juuuuuuuuust right? Now you need to set up another one (or 5 or 10 or 20) just like the other one and you scream Noooooooooooooooooooooo!

Well, some of your pain has just been removed. Find a geocache listing that you own that you love and you can apply the latest in medical techniques (well, a link to click or tap anyway) to clone that cache listing.

Go to the cache page and on the right hand side, under Owner Actions you will see (amongst other things) "Clone this Cache".

Click or tap that and give it a moment and you should find a brand new DRAFT cache listing, ready for editing. Everything will be brought across as though you'd just created a new listing. Logs, finds, dZ points, etc will not be copied across as they are specific to your old listing.

Do you want another one, just like the one you created? Click or tap the "Clone this Cache" again. And again. And again. You will still need to enter the appropriate co-ordinates and names, after all we're cloning, not mating, but once you have a nice cache page set up, clone away and make your series of caches easier to prepare than ever before.
