Background changes that will affect icons

Post by caughtatwork » 05 August 19 8:58 am

There are a slew of background functionality changes that you won't notice that are targeted for upcoming changes. Along with these changes there are also changes for the way we are going to deal with dragonZone icons. Part of this change is an increase in size. If you notice that some of the icons are not displaying correctly please force refresh your browser (CTRL-F5 or SHIFT-F5) to grab the latest files and ensure that they are not cached on your machine. Thanks for your patience while the changes are being applied ready for future use.

360 Degrees

Post by Geocaching Australia » 12 August 19 2:26 pm

Geocaching Australia is pleased so advise that we have a new dragonZone trophy to keep up your spirits and continue your engagement and enjoyment.

360 Degrees is the name of the trophy and it's worth 3600 Points
Find a valid dragonZone geocache (excluding moveables) at every degree bearing from 0 to 359 degrees from your home co-ordinates.

https://geocaching.com.au/my/dragonzonetrophies/ has the trophy and the details.

https://geocaching.com.au/cacher/statis ... ork/finds/ will show you how many you have and what you need (this is the developers example of what he has or has not yet achieved).

You can find the bearing on any geocache page and in the geocache lists.
e.g.
https://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga13865
https://geocaching.com.au/caches/available/gca/au/vic/

If you notice strange things then please let us know through our forums.

Virtual Stickers

Post by dragonZone Guardian » 29 June 20 11:16 am

Virtual stickers are now live.

Stick a virtual sticker on a geocache page at Geocaching Australia to show your love.

Become a dragonZone game member, earn Research Materials, trade for virtual stickers and then when you find a geocache at Geocaching Australia that you love, stick it with a sticker.

https://geocaching.com.au/my/dragonzone/trade/sticker
(If you can't see the stickers, press CTRL-F5 to force refresh the page and clear our your image cache).

See them in action here:

Cool. I just added one to a great chirp cache we did last year. GA13323 in Qld. Not sure why 2 "wombats" show up on cache page as I only traded for one and stuck one. Very easy to do. I picked the wombat because he/she is cute.

Yeah, not sure why that has happened. I've dropped one off. If this happens again, please let me know.

I've just dropped a few stickers on some cool caches and the cache page is also showing two identical stickers, rather than just the one that I applied. I was using MS Edge browser when applying them.

I thought you could only add the stickers to dragon zone caches. One is a virtual and one is a locationless?

I had to experiment with the new toy too. I'm also seeing double.

Can multiple people add stickers to the same cache? I'm hesitant to experiment because I can't see a way to unstick them.

Thanks for the reports. With that information I have been able to make a fix so that shouldn't happen again. I've dropped the duplicates as well.

BTW, just like a really good sticker, you can't peel it off and reuse it, they are permanent.

You can add more than one sticker to a geocache.

Others can also add to the same geocache.

The latest ones added will be the first ones in the list and you can see who stuck the sticker by hovering over the sticker.

You can add a sticker to any Geocaching Australia geocache, live, archived, any type at all. The only dZ involvement is what you trade to get them.

Virtual Collector Cards

Post by caughtatwork » 22 February 21 9:43 am

Geocaching Australia is pleased to announce that as of today, virtual collector cards are now available to those who play dragonZone.

Collector Cards are virtual items that as you collect them they boost the rate at which you earn points. They range from common and uncommon through rare to elite and legendary.

You trade for Collector Cards using your Research Materials. You cannot trade for individual cards, only for packs of 10 which may result in you receiving duplicates.

Cards are rewarded randomly based on their scarcity with elite and legendary cards being rewarded far less frequently that common, uncommon or rare cards.

View your Collector Cards here:
https://geocaching.com.au/my/dragonzone/

If you are having troubles seeing the cards, force refresh via CTRL-F5 to gain the latest image and style files.
