swaggies - beta testing [closed]

Post by ideology » 29 December 04 10:41 am

we raised the idea of aussie travel bugs in a previous thread where cached suggested the name "swaggie" (thanks cached!)

we've got a prototype working and seek your feedback

to recap, the idea is that you don't need to pay US$whatever to get a tag to attach to an object for tracking: you can just write a swaggie's name on it and it can be tracked here.

we have set up a swaggie called test (click it to see the swaggie page)

to grab it, go to the page above and select "grab this swaggie"
to drop it in another cache, go to the cache and select "drop a swaggie into this cache"

you can see swagggies listed as the contents of a cache or the inventory of a cacher

we have a few more things to do, eg create new swaggies, edit logs, maps, distance travelled, etc, but we thought we'd get your feedback on this before we go too far.

have a go at grabbing the test swaggie and dropping it in caches! please let us know how it goes!

It works! Now, to see if anyone from the West Island's keen enough to come this side of The Ditch to pick it up!

a little bit of fun.

still think the physical swaggie needs a common identifying tag.

even if we opted to use a standard key tag.
