GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo
Re: GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo
Ok newby alert so please don't shoot me.
I've never hidden a cache before. Do I log into GCA and click on Hide a Cache?
And if so, what name? What summary? and what description please?
Sorry for the questions

Welcome Chasburgs! This is my first moveable game too so let's see how we go.Chasburgs wrote:I've never hidden a cache before. Do I log into GCA and click on Hide a Cache?

- Yes, login to GCA and yes click on hide a cache.
- You choose the name for your cache, in this case your gnome's name.
- The summary is a one line description and the description talks about the hide, again in this case your gnome (give it a personality for example)
- Importantly, make sure the cache type is listed as Moveable and select the size of your container.
- Your hide date should be 1 December 2015

Remember to public tag your gnome with gegnome2 from the public tag link on your cache page.

Re: GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo
Do you have the correct web address of the image? Sometimes external sites will load images in ways to optimise for display but not for activley encourage external sharing (Flickr is one of those).tronador wrote:I want to add a photo to my gnome page. Alternately, upload your image to your cache gallery and use the link from there.

Re: GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo
Picassa has made it increasingly difficult since its now run by google. I have to copy the image url by right clicking on the image not by copying the link address they provide. It used to be so easy. It's done now but every time I forget and every time I want to add a photo to a GCA cache page I am in a world of pain.

Re: GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo
The cache gallery is there for just that.
Load the image to your cache via the Add/Edit Gallery link on your cache page.
Then come back and edit your cache.
Down the bottom there is your image.
Select the name from the box.
Now go to your listing and click on the icon that has a mountain.
Paste your image name in, set a few other things and you're done.
As easy a few steps.

Re: GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo
Im very happy as I've just found myself a fullsize bonafide garden gnome. Better late than never.
Second question: can any one remember the GCa log scroll printables that someone made for the frog and gnome race last time and where I would find this online to print off????

I've made some for my gnomes for this race (with the current logo and an game info) if you'd like a copy. It's A4 divided into 4 columns.tronador wrote:Second question: can any one remember the GCa log scroll printables that someone made for the frog and gnome race last time and where I would find this online to print off????

Re: GeGnome ][ Electric Boogaloo
I've embraced technology and ditched the physical log in my movables this year. The logs in previous years got lost/damaged or damaged the game piece so I figured I'd ditch them in favour of the online log only.

Just remember to write the GAnnnn name on the gnome so when you're picking up more than one you know which one you're letting go.
