Yep. Just doing some refactoring and seeing if I can get a mates task in there. Probably from 1-Jun-2015, but that will depend on if I can ensure the code works.

Point taken. I'll look at the wording of those ones. By the way, if you are a dragonZone member and you do anything during the game, you will automatically be entered. There is no opt-out. So your normal caching will contribute to the game.Richary wrote:Badly worded as it sort of implies you need to move the cache. Maybe shift instead of move? Not quite sure how to word this one. Otherwise the concept is good, though not sure if I will be playing.3
Traditional Grunt
Find and log a Traditional geocache and move the geocache towards your clan control.

I see Virtuals and Locationless aren't listed as specific points earners(unless my eyes are failing me .. which is quite possible) ... but would they count for streaks or unloved?

Re: A winter dragonZone game (discussion)
There are 3 which refer specifically to a locationless cache.
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2689 (6 months unloved)
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2699 (12 months unloved)
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2698 (2 years unloved)
Each of these requires a log on a cache that hasn't been found for the applicable period, then you log the locationless. When you log the locationless, you get the points.
For the streaks.
Find and log a dragonZone geocache
Virtuals and Locationless caches do not count as dragonZone caches, only physical caches do. Event and Webcams aren't applicable either.

Almost glad I've been quiet the last few months... will actually give me a chance to streak again

Re: A winter dragonZone game (discussion)
Having already logged the 6 months, 12 months and 2 years unloved locationless caches, and not wishing to double up (this is where I see the concept of Ingress falling down, going back to the same places all the time), it would be good if a note on these caches could also qualify for points as a way of logging unloved cache finds without having to log multiple finds. An alternative might be to create similar, but new, locationless caches just for the game period and only allocating points for the first qualifying find. Just some thoughts, as I'm sure there are other players who don't log multiple qualifying finds on locationless caches

Software can't tell if you're making a "find" note or a "note" note. Regrettably, the only thing I can do is check to see if your making a real find.Luckyl10n wrote:Having already logged the 6 months, 12 months and 2 years unloved locationless caches, and not wishing to double up (this is where I see the concept of Ingress falling down, going back to the same places all the time), it would be good if a note on these caches could also qualify for points as a way of logging unloved cache finds without having to log multiple finds. I'm a fan of reusing what we have, so I'm sure Cached would love some more logs on her caches based on the game

Like LuckyL10n we only log a cache of any type once so will miss out on these finds. We are looking for ways around this and have a few strategies we will try once the game starts.

Re: A winter dragonZone game (discussion)
If we put out a GCA cache every day for 28 days does that count as a streak?
No hope of getting one any other way.

Sorry, no. Only finds count. We don't want to encourage 28 consecutive days of micro-spew.2y'stassies wrote:If we put out a GCA cache every day for 28 days does that count as a streak?

Re: A winter dragonZone game (discussion)
How will competition points be allocated where a group of cachers makes a find at the same time? Will the first to log get the points, or will all receive competition points?

Re: A winter dragonZone game (discussion)
I've just noticed heaps of dragonZone points dropping off. I've lost 800 or so since my last log, but there are others (2y'sTassies, Sol de lune, geobrigit etc) whose points have also dropped significantly. I hope the dragon hasn't got pointy scale disease
