I won't be heading out at midnight as I have to work Saturday morning down at Camden. Still that's not a particularly GCA moveable popular area so if someone like Zal has been down that way there is a chance of a few. After that I have to head to Peakhurst, so will be able to check a few down that way.

That said, any early found logs would be appreciated as I will download the query as I finish the job!

Not until the rest of us have had time to move them 1km from the event and someone else back in turn for our bingo cards! [-X

I will be out and about at Midnight for a few hours I hope ;)

I have caches down by the Georges River, Bicentennial, Gosford and in the Hills District... so something for everyone... so some best not done in dark!

Correction, I now can log in the field - provided something doesn't go wrong with activating the prepaid SIM I just bought. I'm curious to see if having internet access for Cache-racer updates, etc helps in the field enough to justify the expense. The downside is it's an iPad SIM so have a lump of a tablet to lug around - and keep safe [-o< as its work-owned... 8-[

Great to see so many previously "unlisted" caches have entered the game and there are now two or more for every number - I wonder if it's get to 400 caches before tomorrow? (26 to go!) :-)

You can still use a smartphone/laptop/tablet to do the log in the field.

Yeah I usually use GPS and Phone. Phone is perfect for seeing what is around me when I have a spare 20mins, where ever I may be, and for logging. If I am really being serious, I will take my laptop with the wireless net!

I read in here that you had entrants down south so got all excited knowing that you had been to Merimbula. Alas Georges River must be south.

I tried using my phone in the field but it was a drag mucking around for 5 mins after the find, doing the logging and it was slowing everything down, and I made lots of typos.
I now use the Oregon Field notes to capture the basic details, with key words in the comments to trigger my memory when I log later by importing the field notes into GSAK.
I find this to be the optimal method for me.

Got my 5 caches hidden this morning between South Melbourne and Hampton.

Apologies Tuena, I meant South of Sydney... generally very slow GCA'ing down there. I got an FTF which was a driveby and a week old today! I wasnt organised enough one the Merimbula trip

Nope, not on a pl an. Data is too expensive I wont .use it and have it disabled. Dont own a tablet or carry a laptop. Just me and my GPS. That's why I don't do munzees.Requires data to run the app.
