Gee! Never noticed that there before :) How handy!
I have always used the My Query function. I guess I rather like ir because I can get the gpx file mailed to me during a game every day or so

I'm a very new cacher and have been reading these posts for the last week or so. Have managed to get my first cache hidden, logged and (I hope) ready to go. It's all so EXCITING! Not going out tonight tho to find caches - major storm brewing in Canberra. Just trying to keep up with all the info and input and not make any major muggle mistakes! haha THIS IS GREAT!

Use the Query function. There is a Public Query for BINGO which you can run and then just click on the "GMAP" link http://geocaching.com.au/my/query/gmap/5498

Of course there is nothing showing yet as none are published yet.

Or you can build your own query if you want to customise (eg exclude your own, or exclude ones you've already found if that's what you want)

My montana is not reading the GPX generated from a query at geocaching.com.au/my/query/

Yes the test query had caches. Anyone else had it working with a Montana ?

Check you have 1.0.1 Compatible and the GPX Version
The Garmin products only read Groundspeak GPX file formats as caches.

You can still use a smartphone/laptop/tablet to do the log in the field.
Nope, not on a pl an. Data is too expensive I wont .use it and have it disabled. Dont own a tablet or carry a laptop. Just me and my GPS. That's why I don't do munzees.Requires data to run the app.
I don't find data expensive. I have a monthly 1Gb for $10 data pack from Telstra and I rarely use 50%, even when using it for caching.
I used Google Navigation in my car all the way to Adelaide from Melbourne, plus other stuff, and used 700 Mb for that month.
Still wouldn't use it for logging because of time/battery constraints however.

I choose not to take all that technology into the field. I love the outdoors because you can get away from all of that. I just like to get out and explore, bush walk and cache. I have no interest in taking computers, phones, tablets with me. I also have no interest in logging in the field. What I do enjoy, after a great day outdoors, is to log my finds on line at home. I enjoy writing decent logs. I find this time relaxing as I relive my caching day. And I know most CO enjoy reading my logs.
Sorry but missing out on a moveable because its already gone is all part of the game. If you play, you must expect this and not get upset about it. I know one obsessed cacher who traveled quite some distance last Christmas Day to find frogs only to discover he could not find a single one, thinking no one else would be obsessed enough to go out on Christmas Day at 6 am to go find them. He he he....

23:24h Nov 30th and there are 482 BINGO Caches from 87 players.

Still many fewer players than last year, but more caches each :D

\:D/ OK 400 was an easy mark to beat - so can it be 500+ come midnight?
"There are 484 Bingo caches belonging to 88 members in the game." as of ~22 minutes to go :-)
