No, I think you'd better cancel any plans you may have, and re-organise them AROUND Race time. Definitley the best plan.

I might have missed the announcement, but who were the winners of the great frog race, other than all the cachers who took part?

The final announcement is only available from today. I will be contacting every prize winner by email to get your postal details. I know the site has some already, but hey, I'm nothing if not inefficient.

Prize Winners:

Most moves:
Touchwood by nutwood from Tasmania. 50 moves.

Longest Distance:
Bao-Bao by Zhaomin from the UK moved 17,208.45km*
Liap-min by Zhaomin from the UK moved 17,041.87km*
Secret Frog -- Red 1 by pjmpjm from New South Wales moved 17,011.98km

Total Distance:
Bao-Bao by Zhaomin from the UK moved a total of 34,406.11km*
GONNA GOZZA by covert from Victoria moved a total of 32,733.70km
* As Zhaomin won both the longest distance and total distance but you only get one prize overall, Zhaomin will be awarded a prize, as will both the runners up being pjmpjm and covert.

Random Prize:
Jense Frog by Cruisinblues being the only LeapFrog that was still in play at the end of the game, but didn't get moved.
° for moving a single LeapFrog some 33,000km in only two moves.
SamCarter Random Frog Leaper

I was just thinking while out this afternoon grabbing a frog that I missed during the race, that I knew there were a number of other frogs in the area that I wasn't bothering with because post-race I don't generally refind moveables (by default they don't show up in my search filters on GSAK or Geosphere).

Perhaps if anyone does want their frog to come home now the race is over post a note here. With the mega getting close I am sure someone can grab it, take it to Albury, and find a cacher prepared to take it back to it's home city.

I'm happy to try to retrieve any Sydney frogs over the next 2 weekends to bring down, and will bring any back that want a trip home.

Sounds like a good idea to gradually retrieve some of the many Leap Frogs. I'm going to grab mine whenever they venture close to the Blue Mountains.

Then they can enjoy a happy and sedate retirement in Leura . . .
