Sorry that I wasn't close enough . . . Am in the Blue Mountains right now!

Could only log three on Day One . . .

I have just been looking at the distribution map and it appears that the race is very much a southern Australia game with hardly a frog north of Sydney-Perth. Amazing that north of Sydney there's only one out back of Taree, a few around Lismore, one or two at the Gold Coast and a large collection at the Sunshine Coast, beyond that nothing.

Well without even trying too hard I managed 4 on a workday, 3 being FTFs. Had to drive past Tronador's house on the way to the first job so stopped and grabbed her one that was hiding behind the letterbox (together with an errant gnome that obviously thinks it is part of the race).

Then after that job there were 2 near the office (one had already been moved) so I made another 2 FTFs a bit after 11. Dropping the 3 off in new spots on the way home I then FTFed the closest to home at about 5:30pm.

I could be racing around now but I suspect that after work is when they will all start moving so probably a number of DNFs would be had as they wouldn't be logged Found yet in most cases.

Leap Frog Initial Placements in Sydney

Earlier today rogerw3 checked up on the Sydney area distribution of Leap Frogs, and observed that they were mainly placed in the inner northwest down to roughly Ryde. Relatively few were hidden anywhere else in the city. So that seems to be the area where Sydney GCA 'froggers' live -- although rogerw3 and I deliberately drove down from the mountains to secret a number of our amphibians in that very locale . . .

Some of my lower Blue Mountains frogs remain unfound at the end of Day One, plus my 'accidental placement' at Eastern Creek. (Am hoping that Josh will move than one soon!)

It was the same with the gnomes, even more so with Zal not being in the game yet. Anything hidden much east of Chatswood, or in the southern suburbs seemed to hang around for a while.

Honeysucker and Froghopping are having massive troubles getting their supposed published frogs in the leaderboard.
Can a Faery help?

Let me look into it.

honeysucker
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/GA3689 it's in DRAFT so it doesn't show up on the Leapfrog ladder.
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/GA3690 is LIVE (but was in DRAFT a few minutes ago) so didn't show up on the Leapfrog ladder.
At the next refresh (10:00PM), the live cache will show up.
When the other cache in DRAFT is published, at the next refresh of the Leapfrog ladder, it should appear.

froghoppin
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/GA3991 is LIVE but at cachinggames.com the cache is listed as GA007
That's not going to work.
I've updated froghoppin at cachinggames.com to GA3991 and the next Leapfrog ladder refresh should show it up.

Hi Loving the frog race, there are a lot more frogs in melbourne than gnomes last year, plenty to chase around, Just a suggestion, Dont know if its even possible but with the map showing were the frogs are, is it possible for the found frogs to turn green then turn back to blue once they are re hidden, would make it easier to locate the ones that are still in hiding, just a thought

Your question is sane, but comes up each year.
I'm afraid the answer is no.

If the cache has a found with co-ords, then it's been moved.
If the cache has a moved with co-ords, then it's been moved.
If the cache has a found with no co-ords, then ...
a. It may be in the hands of the finder and on the way to a new location.
b. It may be still in place and the finder isn't going to move it on.
You never know whether the cache is in place or not based on the last log. It may have been found and moved without a log being made yet.

So, you're going to have to get off your bum and go have a look
Checking the latest logs will be the best indication that it's there or not, provided you haven't been beaten (say in the last 15 minutes, damn you s_mc500)
