I've got a few moveables that use a "code word" rather than a log sheet. If there is a dispute about a find, I would ask to confirm the find with the code word. There is a thread somewhere here on this as well.FelixII wrote:Guys a friend is trying to get a froggy ready, but wants to know if they have to have a log? I found 6 brand new places to hide our froggies. After all, they like to be near water so gnome homes aren't going to be so comfortable for this year's toysBronnie_1990 wrote:I went home via the bunnings bush (i see it's a very common idea!) and was very disappointedRichary wrote: Just wondering how many frogs I could find early if I checked the regular gnome hideouts from last year?

I've made two of mine have code shapes, instead of installing logs, as there was just...no where i could think of putting it (without breaking it)fluffyfish wrote:I've got a few moveables that use a "code word" rather than a log sheet. Also, i am never hiding a micro or nano or anything that small again. i dont like those logs.

Current GPX file download ?
Is there a way to download a current (when the game starts) GPX file of all the leadfrogs in an area/state/distance from xxx ?

Re: Leap Frog registrations are now open
Yes, yes there is.
Go set up a new MyQuery.
http://geocaching.com.au/my/query
Click Create New Query.
Set a limit of caches to return.
Give it a name.
Tick Moveable.
Sort by Closest to set to HOME (assuming you have your home co-ords set at GCA via My Settings)
Within radius set to the radius you want. e.g. 10, 20 (in kolimetres)
Public Tags set to leapfrog
That should do what you want so click the New button.
You can now get a GPX file or ZIP file.
You can even set it to email you the file every day of the week.

Re: Leap Frog registrations are now open
Sweet. Looks like that worked (0 caches)
I don't suppose it is possible to supple a location by URL ?
eg geocaching.com.au/my/query/zip/4354?lat=38.0123&lon=145.5678

Possibly because the hidden listings don't turn into frogs until after midnight.Cheesy pigs wrote:is that all the frogs or just your state? I cant seem to make mine workBronnie_1990 wrote:something like this?covert wrote:Current GPX file download ?

If you want it centred, add the lat and lon to the Sort by Closest to.
With no disrespect to you, adding GET variables to the My Query generator has an extremely unwelcome side effect of having people / bots hammer the database by running a script to vary the lat/lon by a degree and coming back in again and again and again and again. We already have a challenge with the Googlebot doing similar stuff (the Googlebot hits GCA every single second of every day of every week, month and year), so I am loathe to add this capability as the My Query generator is quite heavy in terms of database access.

Re: Leap Frog registrations are now open
Problem with this might be that I think the frogs retain their last location after they are grabbed, until they are placed again, covert wrote:Current GPX file download ?

so there's no guarantee a frog is still where the GPX data says it should be, unlike a normal cache which stays put.

Re: Leap Frog registrations are now open
Use the GA Cacher app from the Android market place. Handy for getting GCA caches near you and the latest logs. You can catch up with the cache logs up to the minute (assuming the log has been made). I'm going to be making the most use of that app for this years race.
A big part of the fun of moveable caches is never quite knowing whether it is there, not there, you can't find it or that guy sprinting away in the distance has a frog in his backback.
