Happy Anniversary - The Offical Congratulations Thread

Post by caughtatwork » 18 May 10 8:53 am

Wishing all a Happy 10th Anniversary of Geocaching in Australia.

There were 271 272 273 277 caches hidden for the 10th Anniversary, a 25% increase on the number of geocachines listed at Geocaching Australia (excluding TrigPoints).

Thanks to everyone who participated in making this a momentous occassion.

Please come into this thread, knock around with some friends, offer some congratulations on our anniversary, have fun and give everyone a few thoughts on what the last 10 years and the next 10 years of geocaching will hold for you.

We wouldn't have been here right now if it weren't for the hard work of some who have moved on, so I would like to personally thank the previous site developers and visionaries of the Geocaching Australia website. Your previous effoerts are muich appreciated and have stood us in good stead for many years past and many good and fun years to come.

Kind regards.
Your current and former website developers and original forum owners.
caughtatwork, CraigRat, ideology, Riblit, Swampgecko, embi and Pyrenees Kid.

Congratulations guys on all your hard work in keeping GCA going and thriving. I for one really do appreciate all your unflagging efforts.
I am still only very new to this game (since August last year), but I have to say that without it my life would be a lot more boring!
It keeps my reasonably fit as I do all my caching on foot and public transport, which mean trains mostly.
I enjoy most of all hiding caches and reading the great logs cachers have left, mind you I do get quite a kick out of finding caches as well.
Happy 10th Birthday Geocaching Australia and many Happy Returns.

Happy 10th Anniversary.
Thanks to all involved for the fun I'm having traipsing around Sydney discovering new and exciting places and keeping fit too.

My other half now regrets showing me an article she found in a local newspaper some 27 months ago. She says I must be addicted to it.

Anyway, keep up the good work and here's to the next 10 years. =D> \:D/ =D> \:D/

Well done to all those involved over the past 10 years =D> =D> Lets hope that the next ten are as good if not better.
While we have only been involved in caching for the past few years we have greatly enjoyed the time that we have spent scratching around in the bushes and looking under rocks, but even more so we have enjoyed all the amazing sneaky hides that we have come across. On top of that we have had wonderful time at various event over the past few year, not least of which was the Megga event at Wagga.
Cheers to all and happy caching. \:D/ \:D/

Congratulations to all the Australian Geocachers.

This marks a milestone in a great pastime. I have spent the last 6 years enjoying the thrill of the hunt.

Although it is not a milestone for GCA I would like to take this opportunity to thank the original creators of this site and also the ongoing development team for growing this site into an part of my life which I look forward to enjoying every day.

Happy Anniversary.

The best thing about caching is the people, I've never meet a cacher that wasn't friendly. (some with different views, but still friendly).

Congratulations to all of us and especially the GCA developers. I am often amazed at the complexity found on the website and enjoy the friendliness in the forum.

I have a friend in Europe who is jealous of what I say about the Australian geocaching site and community. He says he wished there was such a friendly website in his neck of the woods.

Happy Anniversary to all, and a special mention to Pyrenees Kid, who started the original (pre-GCA) forum.
