"Read" status doesn't happen
Ok, I hope this makes sense.
Recently (like the last fortnight) every time a visit a thread on this forum, it still says I haven't read it. This is shown by the yellow text instead of the green text. I can "read all" by clicking the mark forums read button. I know this is a rather minor issue, but I thought it should be brought to the attention of the mods.
Thanks
Jeremy

It will go back to yellow if someone has posted a reply since you last viewed that thread. Is that the issue?
Otherwise it is something for our groovy developers / faeries to sort out

What browser are you using?
I think what you may be talking about is the hyperlink (text) doesn't change colour after it is read. This is caused by the settings in your browser. It may not be allowing cookies and therefore can not remember if you have read a page.

I had this a few days ago. Worked out that it was because I wasn't logged in.

I'm using Chrome, and yes I have double checked that someone hasn't posted a new post.
But thanks anyway

Re: "Read" status doesn't happen
I have the same problem in Chrome - I use the 'back' button my mouse, so it doesn't 'Mark Forums Read' until I refresh the page, or leave GCA and come back.
More of a PEBCAK in my case, I suspect if i used the links to navigate instead of the buttons on my mouse, I wouldn't see this issue.

Firefox is the same. I would have thought any browser that does not refresh the page when the browser "back" button is used would behave that way.
A page refresh will fix it though.

That's the escalation of the error when one forgets to hit the Mark Forums Read button and then wonders why refresh is doing bupkus.Damo. wrote:Not an "id 10 t" error then.Dvixen wrote: More of a PEBCAK in my case, I suspect if i used the links to navigate instead of the buttons on my mouse, I wouldn't see this issue.
