Well that was a bit of a fizzer
Waited all this time for a 90km round trip for one cache on top of a mountain - admittedly great views though
The next nearest one is a 2 hour climb up South Brother

Great to see the huge boost in GCA numbers though.

1 meter from

What are the odds that in all of Australia, two caches end up being hidden for the same day in the same location.
Well, you can call it a 2-for-1.

I had a sneaking suspicion that this may have occured to some extent somewhere todaycaughtatwork wrote:http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga2007

Actually they are about 4m from each other, that's almost miles!
I have just come back from a walk up the hill to GA2161 to claim the FTF, not much of a challenge as I knew where it was, I had considered this particular hidey hole then went for the other spot.
Still a great event, this has been fun.

Re: 2000 to 2010 = 10 years of Geocaching in Australia
Was supposed to be working at home as I watched the rain come down in Sydney. Bugger it! No one seems to be logging these local caches so I'll go out for a bit. First find: beaten to it. Second find: beaten to it. Third find: FTF!
Note the hider who beat me to the first two caches was the placer of the third! But the third cache was Lane Cove 2010 which was outside the park a mere 350 m from the original. Great idea for a cache placement. Of course while there I wandered into the park to log the original (virtual) cache on the 10 anniversary. Not the best day for it but I was glad that I managed it.
Was back home within 90 minutes.

Have I missed something or is the empty anniversary thermometer on the home page waiting to be gradually filled with 20th anniversary caches? At least I hope it will be 20th as statistically I won't be alive for the 25th

I got 2 FTF on the 10th anniversary caches and 1 Silver was happy with that. Also cleaned up 5 Trig Points in the area as well so had a good day.

I got a GC find that popped up 250 metres from the GCA Anniversary cache I was logging at the time...
