Must be time to stop my holidays and go back to work. Thank you
Re: 2000 to 2010 = 10 years of Geocaching in Australia
I've been contemplating making my very first cache a movable anniversary cache, but I'm not sure a regular sized one will fit the hiding place(s) I have in mind. Hmm...caughtatwork wrote:Don't forget that in order to get an anniversary pathtag, your cache must be a physical cache and it must be size regular or larger.

Re: 2000 to 2010 = 10 years of Geocaching in Australia
Oh, well, then make it small.
The original idea behind the "regular" size to get a pathtag was to encourage people to think of the largest cache they could it into an area.
It was also a way of discouraging people chucking a couple of micros out the car window that cost them nothing to make with a bit of scrap paper inside.
If you want to hide a small, go for it and it will still qualify for the pathtag reward.
After all this joint is "free and open", so I may as well drop the size restriction with that mantra in mind.

Sweeeeeeeeeet
I am very, very excited at the level of interest and the number of what appear to be quality caches appearing. I am very happy that there are about a dozen near me I can get to find too.
Thanks to everyone who has participated so far. We would love to get to 200 and to give away hundreds of pathtags, so c'mon people. You have less than 4 weeks to go, so join in the fun.

Perhaps you could drop the size restriction, but put a priority on size with those listing micros for anniversary caches missing out if you run out of pathtags before they get theirs? Just a suggestion.caughtatwork wrote:Oh, well, then make it small.

With the size restriction out of the way I might pop another one out on the weekend (not a micro).

Will also drop in a couple - the geokid is VERY excited by pathtags (thus the disappointment at getting zero for all the work we did on the Moving Cache Race) so is planning a couple. Got some good spots in mind, one will be a multi in a spot near one we used in the Race.

I never got my random prize of a GCA pathtag from the race, but had got one recently before that for some sort of contribution to geotalk.Yurt wrote:Will also drop in a couple - the geokid is VERY excited by pathtags (thus the disappointment at getting zero for all the work we did on the Moving Cache Race) so is planning a couple. First one (of two) is published (in the future!) - now we'd better get the cache made! Did a multi to slow down the drive-bys.
Also about to put together two more GC caches so the number to find grows and grows.
No wonder the graph is called "swimming against the tide"!

Hi All, Had a short caching day today with three finds, leaving me 12 short of 500. How much do I enjoy this sport and am glad it is here in Australia and that we a celebrating its 10th anniversary in the near future. To those whose caches I have found, thank you!! To those who have looked for and found or did not find mine, thank you!! Enjoy the celebrations as I will, cheers OldSaint.

Looks like GC.com sprung a new cache type on us, or they have been reading this thread and getting ideas
10 Years! Event Cache- A 10 Years! Event Cache is a special Event Cache type for events held April 30 - May 3, 2010 to celebrate 10 years of geocaching. Source

As far as GC is concerned, all I can say is too little, too late. Not enough time to do anything decent as far as I am concerned. Sorry GC you missed the boat!rubai wrote:Looks like GC.com sprung a new cache type on us, or they have been reading this thread and getting ideas
