Report GCA Site issues here [closed]
Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I was just trying to find out how many trigpoints I've found (haven't figured it out yet) and came to the Milestones section in the statistics section. In October 2015 I entered a large amount of virtuals and as a result I hit the milestone twice in a day.
In the overview it now looks like this: http://imgur.com/FgQo4wi
Could that "0" please be replaced by "Same day" or "0 days"?
Thanks heaps, Edwin

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I've just received an email about a trig point being unarchived and, naturally, had a look at the details.
All's good with the TP and the logs etc but I found a fault on the cache page...
Clicking the link up the top left for the "hidden by" (AHOMBURG) actually links to the cacher profile of Geocaching Australia (geocaching.com.au/cacher/Geocaching+Australia) rather than for Adrian.(geocaching.com.au/cacher/ahomburg)
The link on the log does link to Adrian's profile, as it should.

I think you'll find all trigs are 'owned' by Geocaching Australia. Doesn't matter what name you put them under, they will link back to Geocaching Australia.....another example is TP7143. There is/was at least one here in the ACT as well, just can't find it at the moment.WazzaAndWenches wrote:I've just received an email about a trig point being unarchived and, naturally, had a look at the details.

Something to do with the TP prefix?

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
TP's are community assets and are owned by Geocaching Australia. Anyone can edit the cache details, archive it or unarchive it as a community asset.
The "owned by" name of the owner can be set to Geocaching Australia or the person who listed it. This is decided by the listed when they list the cache.
So in this case Adrian listed the cache it so the "owned by" is ahomburg, but the listing is actually owned by GCA. You can do similar name ownership at GC by the way. The display name is just a name not necessarily the entity that owns the cache itself.

Thanks C@W and SdL. I was aware that GCA owned the TP's but just expected the Hidden By to show GCA rather than a cacher name.caughtatwork wrote:TP's are community assets and are owned by Geocaching Australia.
All good.

I don't seem to have received my points and trophy for my Celebration Day : Geocaching in Australia Anniversary. Unlike my newbie error on Leap Day, I think I managed to qualify for this one

Send it to caughtatwork@gmail.com
Also describe what it's supposed to be, please. If the geometry is now what we expect then we'll fail it.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Email sent. The KML file is the June LWE playing field. As far as I'm aware, it's the same format as it was in previous years which uploaded to GCA without issues. (although I've got a feeling the 2015 one never made it to GCA since it was two separate polygons)

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
We expect a geometry collection you have provided a linestring. We're not going to be able to import it in this format. The zone importer is very basic and you need to create it as suggested in the Wiki How To to make sure it will import.
