Google Maps issue that I don't know how to work around.mtrax wrote:I'm not sure if its a design issue or a bug but the GCA google maps info_window which pops up when you click a cache marker/icon has a scroll bar which means you can't see all the details unless you scroll down.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I'm probably forgetting something here but these numbers don't seem to add up...
According to http://geocaching.com.au/cacher/Laighsi ... swaypoints I've been to 99 events (using chrome's Crtl+F find text search)
GSAK says 99 to so that checks out.
However http://geocaching.com.au/stats/cachers/ ... inds_event says I've been to 100. Where has this extra event come from???

How big it the file? There's a limit on the filesize you can upload.

Unzipped, the GPX is 14MB or so MB, and is above our limit. (you can't import .zip files, you must extract the zip and upload the GPX file)
See here for details on how to split the files in to managable chunks:

I guess around 4400 is the limit as it worked last week.CraigRat wrote:Unzipped, the GPX is 14MB or so MB, and is above our limit. (you can't import .zip files, you must extract the zip and upload the GPX file)

I will look at other methods when I get time.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
I can. In an effort to keep the database somewhat up to date I have been uploading my NSW pocket queries every couple of weeks (please let me know if you don't want me to do that), especially a NSW New query I run periodically that shows all new caches in the last week - so at least the map plots will show all the local caches if people use that to find ones in an area.CraigRat wrote:Unzipped, the GPX is 14MB or so MB, and is above our limit. I just upload the zip file and it imports (eventually - with 1000 caches in each PQ) and tells me it has ignored the file-waypoints.gpx that is in the zip.
As a side note I have tried to work out how to generate a GPX from GSAK to only include caches with logs in the last week and only inlcude those logs, but it wasn't working out (or still way too big) so I might have to look into some of the available macros, so my import isn't importing logs you already have to lessen the load on the server processing.

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
OK, I've worked out how to update the GSAK database, then filter for caches that weren't updated in the last 8 days and get the data from GC to import any archived logs. Then filter for caches with logs within the last week, copy to another database and purge all logs older than a week to import and help keep things up to date and minimise the update size by filtering out logs already imported. Would be nice if I could set the GPX to not include all the cache description text as GCA doesn't show that anyway but I have yet to work that bit out if it is even possible.
But during the log imports tonight I got this message.
Updating metaphone of cache GC3GJGC: GC3GJGC
What the heck does that mean?

Got the following "message" when I uploaded a new zone. But the zone is there and working so just a heads up that the success message could be a little nicer

Re: Report GCA Site issues here
Tried to update my finds following the instructions on the wiki. i've done this sucessfully a few times now but last night for some reason after clicking upload nothing was happening. Thought it was my phone connection so tried a few times - now there are a number of duplicate logs appearing! i can't see any way to remove these myself.
