God, I wish they would keep their bloody schema up to friggen' date.
:D
Allows an event organiser to post a note/announcement to the event page, but the notification gets sent to anyone who has logged a will attend, whether they are on the watch list or not.

Oh.
It's been added.
Try that import again and let me know if it works.

Yep reimported just the cache, and it's showing up fine now.

=D> =D> =D>

To get the right details I shot off an Announcement from one of my old events.
I'm sure everyone is very confused to get an email about an event that was years ago.

Thanks for letting us know. The way GS are with the GPX schema, we would never know what was going on unless we stumbled across it. God knows how people that write GSAK and other thingies work it out. Probably with a pencil \:D/

Double zone caution appears on http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga0536 . Is this correct?

There are two zones that cover that area.
http://geocaching.com.au/zone/view/380/
http://geocaching.com.au/zone/view/1073/

So yes, it's right, but are the two zones right?

Zone 380 is incorrect as it covers areas that should not be covered by GCA zoning eg. many rural properties, campgrounds, resorts etc as can be seen on the Carnavon National Park Management Plan

Zone 1073 is detailed and the more accurate boundaries for the National Park zoning.....though still too coarse for the cache mentioned.

OK. 380 is now a zone of interest.

WA Feed Issues

Post by Rogue » 19 July 10 11:45 am

There are more issues with the WA feed. Over the last week, a lot of the most recent puzzle caches have been getting archived by GCA, but they are not really archived.

Including, but not limited to:
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gc2aetk
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gc2b0zp
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gc2aq6r
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gc2a63y
http://geocaching.com.au/cache/gc29yg8

It seems to be only the puzzle caches affected, and it seems to be the most recently published.

WA has hit another 500 cache threshold.
I'll go kick the WA faerie and see what happens.

I'm not sure if there is an issue with the SA ranges or not, but I've double checked my end, and it seems to be right, so not sure if I'm just missing something or not.

At the moment to me I'm seeing that the range for SA's 9th set of 500 caches goes up until the 9th May, but GCA says the 19th. I've kept an eye on it for the last week or so just to see if it was some archived caches that hadn't filtered through yet, but the dates haven't changed, so I am wondering if I've got something wrong, or if the feed has played up somewhere along the lines. I've imported the PQ's from the 9 and 10 PQ's just to see if GCA was missing some caches, but it doesn't appear so.

The only thing that makes me query it, is that GSAK is showing as completely up to date using the ranges that I've got set (up until the 9th May for the 9th PQ, and then from the 10th May for the 10th PQ), so I'm not sure where things are different.

Probably making no sense, but just thought I'd raise it, and try an explain it in some form. :D

There are no pending archives for SA at the moment.
I ran a query against the database and got 4,747 caches (not archived) for SA that are GC caches.
I've manually checked the ranges in excel against the data ranges on the site.
They align perfectly to the 19th May 2010.

The question is for the ranges supplied, do you get the exact same number of caches?
If earlier ranges are less than the numbers below, then there may be some pending archives that haven't fed through yet.

South Australia
1 Jan 01 to 24 Oct 04
500 caches
25 Oct 04 to 10 Jun 06
500 caches
11 Jun 06 to 7 Apr 07
495 caches
8 Apr 07 to 31 Dec 07
500 caches
1 Jan 08 to 3 Aug 08
500 caches
4 Aug 08 to 29 Mar 09
498 caches
30 Mar 09 to 21 Aug 09
498 caches
22 Aug 09 to 2 Jan 10
496 caches
3 Jan 10 to 19 May 10
500 caches
20 May 10
260 caches

There would be a couple of archives that haven't filtered through yet, but that was the reason why I left it a week or so before raising it, as I know that if it's more than 10 days between updates, then GCA treats it as archived.

The numbers are only 1 or 2 caches different for a couple of the ranges, which I guess could have some effect, but I wouldn't have expected 10 days difference that's all. :D

I'll leave it for now, and keep an eye on it and see if it does correct, but just thought I would mention it, just in case something had got stuck somewhere. [-o<

Is something half working at GCA?

I have logged a trig, TP5415, where I was able to show a pic in the log. Pic still showing.

I also did so for TP5414, but when I edited the text, the picture link (unedited) failed. Pic no longer showing.

Then when I went to log a Team Firesafe moveable cache today, I did the<img src="http....."> thingy, and pic totally filed to show. GA 1673. Wanted the pic to show views and as a spolier pic.

Have I stuffed something up? If so, what did I do wrong? or is GCA server having the day off?

Thanks.
