They're no longer displayed as the cache description area is not shown unless the cache is one of ours.
So how do I add public tags to non-GCA caches that aren't mine?

Good question. This change was implemented in August 2015 so no-one has needed this capability for the last 7 months. How much is it used? I would think after 7 months and no issues, the usage is very, very low. You can get tags into the system using the #hashtags is your logs as well.

The last time I used it would have been in August 2015 when I was organizing this event

I also find it useful for putting all the nominated caches in the cache awards on a map (which was what I was trying to do a few days ago).

Why was the add tags link removed in the first place? It's not causing any troubles is it?

An slightly aside point that I have mentioned before, but I think the public tags would have more use if you could add them in bulk to powertrails.

There's slowly been ratcheting back some stuff to simplify functionality on the site. We have a LOT of stuff used by literally one or 2 people (like in this case) that require consideration every time we do something (as it could break that feature). The less of these features we have, the easier it is to focus on the things people use.

If it IS useful to *enough* people , there's no reason it couldn't be added again.

Only if we can use them to filter them out for good :D

How? Imported list? What do you propose the mechanism to be? Please fire up a new thread as this one is about bugs not feature enhancements.

Thanks

Just because I may be the only one that makes public tags doesn't necessarily mean I'm the only one that benefits from them. The maps that result from them do get shared around and others do find them useful. Even though they may not understand how it works, it does lead people to GCA and shows off some of the unique features GCA has!

There was a thread somewhere for this and it did get added to the development list but no one else seemed to care and it sort of died (and probably rightly so).

So if it's already on the wiki, how about offering some suggestions (in another thread) as to how to accomplish it. I cannot think and do everything. We need community input and if we don't get it then the ideas die.

If you have something you want done, ask, describe, design, offer advice and input. Don't just say "I want X" and leave it up to someone else to do. It will not get done.

This is for everything on the development list. No input means no-one cares and it will not get done.

Thanks for the report. That's some debugging that simply should not have made its way through. I'll have to address this when I get home this evening.

Please try again. Something went very wrong and I've had to do some changes, so I expect it will all work, but please check carefully.

I have three trigpoints to log, do you think that the database will be working again tomorrow?
Everything is not just slow, it doesn't load anything at all.
